Chronos

Studio Project, Belgrade

Chronos explores architecture that embraces the passage of time rather than resisting it. In contrast to contemporary trends toward demountable systems and short-lived materials, the project proposes a building designed to age gracefully. The facade is clad in copper plates that gradually oxidize, allowing the building’s appearance to evolve over time. At ground level, a bookshop is framed by concrete arches that support the monolithic copper volume above.
